DetoxBrain uses your phone's own Screen Time system, so shields hold even when the app is closed, offline, or after a restart — and there's a "Fix blocking" button plus self-healing shields. But we're honest: no blocker is a 100% unbreakable barrier. OS updates, aggressive battery-saving, permission changes and deliberate workarounds can all affect enforcement. That permission is what lets the app measure your screen time on-device and put shields on the apps you choose. Without it, the app can't block anything or show you your stats. There's always a way out. Settings has a "Reset all shields" control that is never behind a paywall, plus a weekly emergency pass.
